This week’s readings are:
- Deut 27-31; Luke 12
- Deut 32-34; Psalm 13; Luke 13
- Joshua 1-4; Psalm 143; Luke 14
- Joshua 5-8; Psalm 14; Luke 15
- Joshua 9-13; Luke 16
Many of the readings this morning in Deuteronomy were powerful as Moses tries to solidify Israel’s relationship with God as he passes on the mantel of leadership to Joshua. Still, he knows that his people are going to stray, and he gives them a roadmap back.
But I was also struck by a simple phrase of Jesus’ in Luke. In his criticism of those who struggle with faith, he speaks of them not knowing how to interpret the present age.
