Believe, Trust, and Act!
So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake he lived. Numbers 21:9
The Lord said to Moses, "Do not be afraid of him (Og king of Bashan), for I have handed him over to you with his whole army and his land." Numbers 21:34
The NIV Study Bible is clear on these Scriptures: We must believe what God says, trust that He will do what He says, and act as if we believe it! Believe, trust, and act! The people bitten by the snakes lived after receiving a snakebite IF they believed, trusted, and looked at the bronze snake lifted high up on the pole. The act of looking proved their belief and faith! (A forerunner to looking at Jesus high and lifted up on the cross.) The Lord told Moses He had already conquered and delivered up the king of Bashan, and to not be afraid. So Moses believed God's words, trusted that God would bring it to pass, and acted in faith by going out to battle. And the Lord did just as He said He would!
So, the challenge is for us to do just that! Look at Jesus lifted high on the cross. Don't be afraid! Believe. Trust. Act. It's a high calling. Step out in faith and see what God will do!
