Title: What Part of ‘Go’ Do We Not Understand?
Text: Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 6:1-8
Thought for the Day:
The clear command from Jesus Christ, the One who has been given all authority in heaven and on earth, is the GO! And yet most of the people of God who populate our churches go nowhere. We STAY in our churches, hold our services, and run our programs, mostly for ourselves. Already-Christian people might transfer into our churches if our worship services and programs catch their attention, but rare is the church that is truly making new disciples and baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Consider the call of Isaiah 6:1-8. The Lord asks the question, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Isaiah answers, “Here am I! Send me.” In Matthew 28, Jesus is not asking, “Whom shall I send?” e is saying, “Go!” Why are we still sitting in the comfort and safety of our pews? What part of “GO” do we not understand?
Pray through this Thought for the Day as the Spirit leads you in your heart and in your mind. Amen
