Title:Immanuel! God With Us!
Text: Matthew 28:20b; Isaiah 7:14
Thought for the Day:
The Great Commission closers with the guarantee from Jesus that He will always be with us; His presence will always accompany us. This occurs through the agency of the Holy Spirit who lives in our hearts and is ever-present. In Isaiah 7:14, the prophet Isaiah speaks of the Messiah who will come through the virgin birth. His name is to be called Immanuel, meaning God with us. Jesus, who is God the Son, was indeed born into space and time and lived as a man among mankind. After Jesus had ascended into heaven, God the Holy spirit was poured out on the believers and took up residence in the hearts of those who follow Christ. Through the Holy Spirit, then, God continues to be with us.
In the life of the true believer, Christ is present every second of every day. There is no time when the Spirit of Christ through the Holy Spirit is not with us. How might we live, what might we accomplish, by fully grasping the significance of the ever-presence of Immanuel, Jesus Christ who is with us?
Pray through this Thought for he Day as the Spirit leads you in your heart and in your mind. Amen
