And there is no God apart from me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none but me. Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. Isaiah 45:21(b)-22
Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. Isaiah 46:9-10
This is what the Lord says—-your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea.” Isaiah 48:17-18
There is no God like our God. There is no God apart from God. God, the one and only God, is righteous and true. He is Savior, Redeemer. The Ancient of Days makes known the end from the beginning. He controls history; past, present, and future. His purpose will stand. He will do all that He pleases; no one can thwart Him. God can even choose, and anoint, a non-believing Gentile king to carry out His plan. Cyrus, after conquering the Babylonians, freed the Israelites, allowing them to return to Jerusalem.
God is truth and speaks truth; He declares what is right. In Him is strength and power. He upholds His children with His righteous right hand, now and into all eternity. God is our burden bearer; He carries us from birth into old age. What a difference in contrast between our Creator carrying us, sustaining us, and the makers of wood and stone idols who had to carry the heavy images around from place to place! God teaches us what is best for us; when we pay attention and obey His commands we have peace like a flowing river; righteousness as steady and consistent as the ocean waves.
There is no God apart from God and there is salvation in no one else; there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved. Indeed there is no other God like our God, who, while sinless, took our sin upon Himself, dying the death we deserved. Jesus, soon to leave the disciples, said the Holy Spirit of Truth would come to be with believers forever. Imagine it: God’s very Presence coming to live within us, giving us power to live a God-honoring life, teaching us all things and reminding us of everything Jesus said. What a comfort it is that God brings Himself near to us; His Presence close at hand. What other god is like our God? None other! Rejoice!
